I really like the softness this body wash brings. I noticed with the first use, it has an amazing smell and lathers perfectly on a loofah, sponge, cloth, or even just rubbing in your hands. But I also noticed the scent starts to change once you apply it to your skin. It starts to have a slight plastic scent, mixed in with the first scent that I loved so much, which is strange. So it takes me deeper in to the ingredients list:
Water, lauric acid, palmitic acid, potassium hydroxide, glycol distearate, lauryl alcohol, Cocoamidopropyl DEA, menthol, sodium chloride alcohol, vegetable oils, xanthan gum, citric acid, NMF50, essence, tocopherol acetate, and salt.
My biggest concern off the top, was seeing the lauryl alcohol because I know that alcohol dries the skin out, but with further research, I see this is derived from the fatty acids in coconut oils. So I decided to look into the other ingredients. glycol distearate contains ethylene glycol which is used in products such as anti-freeze, brake fluids, and many other chemical products; potassium hydroxide, have you seen all the "acute" hazard symptoms this chemical causes? ...corrosive, redness, pain, blisters, skin burns...Do a quick Google search, or check it out here if you would like to know. I realize there are tons of chemicals we put on/in our bodies daily, but when something claims to be all natural and you find it is not, it is very frustrating. So yes, this body wash works, as a soap. It is easy to apply, and leaves your skin feeling moisturized. The scent of the wash lingers on your skin, very faintly, but leaves you smelling fresh and clean. BUT the ingredients that are actually in the product might just make you take a second look at the product. I know I did. It is falsely claiming to be 100% natural and organic, but if you look just a little bit deeper into what actually goes into this product, you will see it contains more then you thought it did.
