Untamed - Book Review

Lisa Harper wrote the book "Untamed" and on the cover she wrote "How the Wild Side of Jesus Frees Us to Live and Love with Abandon" and has a picture of a woman with her arms wide open, standing at the beach. I feel like the cover is what drew me in to be interested in reading this book, but I have to say a was a bit disappointed in the actual words inside. The cover made me think the book was going to be about letting yourself be free spirited, giving your life to God and being wild on His side. I had a really hard time getting into this book because I feel like there were way too many Bible verses quoted. I'm not into that because I feel like if I want Bible verses, I would just read the Bible. Now other readers may feel different and that's perfectly fine. But for my own opinion, it just wasn't my style of reading. I did however read the entire book and at times, when Harper wrote about her life situations, I was interested in reading more! But once the Bible verses began appearing a lot again, I lost interest; and because of that, I don't have a lot to say for this book review. Before choosing this book to review, I didn't get the chance to read the back of the book. It states that "Lisa Harper is known for combining solid biblical teaching with comedic wit and masterful storytelling." Which now makes perfect sense to me as to why she added in so many Bible verses :P This book may be good for some readers who are interested in reading more on Bible verses! But just not quite a book for me :)
